Thomas More Law Center Full-Time Opening: Executive Assistant Immediate Position Available: Full Time Executive Assistant to the President of the Thomas More Law Center, a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Thomas More Law Center’s Mission: To preserve America’s Judeo Christian heritage; defend the religious freedom of Christians; restore time-honored moral and family values; protect the sanctity of human life; and promote a strong national defense and a free and sovereign United States of America.  The Law Center accomplishes its mission through litigation, education, and         related activities. Qualifications and Description of the Position:

  • Must be fully committed to the mission of the Thomas More Law Center (Please visit the TMLC website at https://www.thomasmore.org/ for a more detailed understanding of the types of cases handled).
  • Reports directly to the President providing executive and administrative support in a “one on one” working relationship.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for external constituencies as well as office personnel on matters pertaining to the operations of the Thomas More Law Center and the Office of the President.
  • Must enjoy working in an environment that is mission driven and results oriented.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.
  • Must be able to quickly adapt to changing situations and priorities.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills; administrative and organizational skills; and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.
  • Must be a team player. On occasion, he/she will be required to assist office staff members with tasks that are time- sensitive.
  • Must be detail oriented and comfortable proofreading documents.
  • Will be responsible for scheduling speaking engagements, appointments, booking travel, handling correspondence, answering phones, filing solicitation documents and otherwise performing normal office functions.
  • Ability to communicate on behalf of the president with donors and others on matters related to program initiatives.
  • Researches, prioritizes, and follows up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to the president, including those of a sensitive confidential nature. Determines appropriate course of action, referral, or response.
  • Ability to prioritize conflicting assignments of the President; handles matters expeditiously, proactively, and follows through projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.
  • Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem solving.  
Preferred Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and familiarity with social media web platforms.
  • At least 3 years of office experience.
