Marin Catholic High School in Kentfield, CA is seeking a full-time Advancement Associate. Sponsored by the Archdiocese of San Francisco, Marin Catholic is a Roman Catholic college preparatory school serving young men and women. Marin Catholic has an enrollment of over 725 students and a staff of over 100 teachers, administrators and classified personnel.

*Position begins August 1.

The Advancement Department requires the ability to demonstrate a positive and productive attitude while providing timely responses to requests for information, service and assistance. The Advancement Department requires its members to work effectively with others and to strive for improvement and solicit continuous feedback. Partnering with the Marin Catholic community will require attentive listening, flexibility toward solutions, confidentiality and the highest standards of professionalism. Members of the Advancement Department report to the Director of Advancement.


General Office Management:

  • Serve as first point of contact for Advancement Office, greet visitors and direct donor inquiries including face-to-face, by phone, and electronically.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Respond to requests from donors, volunteers, and Faculty/Staff in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain and execute general office supplies, files, petty cash, PO’s, as well as assisting with Donor Stewardship.
  • Develop good rapport with parents, faculty and staff, alumni, and all others connected to the school.
  • Assist with production and mailing logistics of solicitations and stewardship mailings.
  • Attend and help with events, as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Advancement.

Provide support for key fundraising programs: As assigned by Director of Advancement: Annual Fund, Grand Sponsor Program, Capital Campaigns, Fundraising Initiatives, Events, Scholarship Program, Board of Regents.

  • Annual Fund: Encouragement of 100% parent participation and raising money from a variety of constituents for the school’s general operating fund. Recruit, train, and manage volunteer Annual Fund “Class Captains.”
  • Donor Cultivation: Assist Director of Advancement with cultivation efforts (identification, research, and strategies) to connect new donors to expand MC’s donor base.
  • Stewardship Events: Administer, manage, and direct all Advancement related stewardship events such as President’s Cocktail Party for New Families, Principal’s Reception, Grandparents Day, Veterans’ Day Assembly, President’s Dinner, Scholarship Dinner, Board of Regents Spring Social, and Donor Visits to Campus.
  • Donor Stewardship: Assist Director of Advancement with Donor Stewardship Gifting.
  • Board Relations: Attend and handle all set-up of Board of Regents meetings (typically 6/year in the evenings) including taking minutes.
  • Fundraising Events: Administer, manage, and direct, including oversight of event budgets for MC Gala (Fall fundraiser).

Communications: Create Advancement specific promotional materials under the Director of the Advancement and alongside Director of Communications, Manager of Alumni & Community Relations, and Database Manager.

  • Oversee production: Includes, but is not limited to, all fundraising, marketing, solicitation materials, newsletters, magazine, Annual Report, e-blasts, social media.
  • Strong Communication Skills Required: Respond to requests from donors, volunteers, and Faculty/Staff in a professional and timely manner.
  • Mailing Logistics: Coordinate production of solicitations and stewardship mailings.


  • Bachelor’s degree, required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related professional experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge of independent schools, non-profits, and Catholic schools, preferred.
  • Experience in managing budgets for events and assigning expenses and revenue properly to accounts.
  • Experience and proficiency using Raiser’s Edge database, Mac and Google applications.
  • Social Media savvy

*Salary is commensurate with experience

This is a year round, fulltime, exempt position, which requires attendance at evening and weekend events. The Advancement Associate will be eligible for all Archdiocesan benefits including health & dental insurance, medical & dependent care flex plan, vacation, Archdiocesan pension and 403b.
