Marin Catholic High School in Kentfield, CA is seeking Director of Counseling.

* Position will begin August 2018 and works 220 days per year.

Marin Catholic has an enrollment of over 725 students and a staff of over 100 teachers, administrators and classified personnel.

As a part of the Faculty, the Director of Counseling like other Teachers at Marin Catholic High School has the primary responsibility to implement the school philosophy through instructional competence, through participation in the creation of a school community, and through their role as a bridge between the individual student and the world community. The Director of Counseling reports to the Principal.

POSITION:

  • Advises a full complement of students
  • Supervises the Counseling Department (including academic, therapeutic counselors and departmental assistant)
  • Coordinates the scheduling process of new and current students with the Dean of Studies
  • Coordinates the school-wide testing programs
  • Maintains records of referrals to Academic Support Center and Therapeutic Counseling
  • Serves on the Administrative Council and the Disciplinary Review Board.
  • With the Assistant Principal for Student Life, coordinates the College Fairs, Junior College Case Studies Night, Orientation programs and parent education opportunities
  • Oversees College admissions visits
  • Coordinates class level academic information nights

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, Master’s degree, preferred
  • High school counseling experience, preferred
  • Catholic, preferred
  • Desire to share his/her faith journey
  • Counseling credential, preferred
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, students, parents and staff
  • Intellectually curious and willing to grow professionally
  • Maintains best professional practices in communicating with peers, students and parents

Salary and benefits are according to a Union contract.
